2. Celebrate Oceanside during City events

There are four great Oceanside events coming up this summer. Take a trip back to an ol' fashioned carnival at Heritage Days in May. Operation Appreciation: Armed Forces Day is a celebration event in June and free for military personnel and their families stationed at Camp Pendleton. The Independence Day Parade is a very popular event with many civic groups participating in the parade; it occurs in late June. The third event is in September; it's a very busy but fun festival -- Oceanside Harbor Days. You can find information on these events in our calendar as information becomes available.

3. Enjoy summer reading, go to the Oceanside library!

The Oceanside Public Library has two primary locations to serve residents - the Civic Center and the Mission Branch. The library has many special programs for children of all ages. 4. Splash into Oceanside's amazing beaches

Make a break for the beach    Enjoy the fresh air and surf in Oceanside; there are 4 main beaches you can visit - South O, The Strand, The Pier (North) and the Harbor. My family enjoys all of these beaches but our favorites are the Strand and Pier areas. So grab your suit, sunscreen and board and hit the beach.

5. Take a family bike ride down the San Luis Rey bike trail

From the beach to the Mission and even to Guajome Park, the San Luis Rey bike trail makes for a great activity. This scenic bike trail is accessible from multi-locations along the bike path. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, as there is limited shade on the trail.
