You Pick Farms for Strawberries near Oceanside, California
- Mellano Farm Stand: Mellano Farms is in Morro Hills, the historic agricultural district of Oceanside. This Farm is open from Thursday to Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fees for strawberries are $10 per person/bucket OR $15 for larger bucket, $5 Entry fee with no bucket. Saturdays and Sundays there are also tractor rides. Location is 5714 North River Road, Oceanside CA 92057
- Carlsbad Strawberry Company: The Carlsbad Strawberry Company is in South Carlsbad and has a U-Pick field along with tractor rides. Open 9am-5pm daily. Location is 1050 Cannon Rd., Carlsbad, CA 92008
- Kenny's Strawberry Farm: Kenny's is off the I-15 freeway in Rainbow. Location is 953 Rainbow Valley Blvd. Fallbrook, CA 92028
- The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch: For You Pick Blueberries through May 12th. The Flower Fields also have an annual Ranunculus blossom and Sunflower picking as well. Location is 5704 Paseo del Norte, Carlsbad, CA 92008
For the biggest Strawberry celebration, make sure to attend the Vista Strawberry Festival in late May.
Picking Tips -
- Choose bright colorful berries with fullness
- Utilize the pathways provided to avoid stepping on the greens or berries
- Bring small, kid-friendly scissors to cut berries from the steams. Make sure to leave on the flowers, as it will be the next berry.
- Gently place berries into a basket. We prefer one with the soft bottom so the berries don't crush into the plastic lacing and receive damage.
- Wash and pat dry berries when at home.
- Utilize a fruit bin for longest storage.
- Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
